I run a sailing school in the summers, and one thing that I always struggle with is freezies and popsicles. We have a canteen where we sell treats as a fundraiser for our sailing school, but there is just so much garbage from them!
So this week for Talk About it Tuesday, I asked for alternatives to freezies and popsicles. Here are the great suggestions I got:
- Make your own popsicles
- DIY Ice cream
- Tubs of ice cream with BYO cups and spoons
- Frozen watermelon slices
- Frozen melon balls
- Frozen grapes
Thanks to everyone that made suggestions, and looking forward to next Tuesday 🙂
All throughout the news, and in my classes, the majority of the narratives we learn about are negative – ocean acidification, deforestation, biodiversity loss, coral bleaching, plastic pollution, the list goes on and on. Some days I ask myself “What’s the point? Why do anything if we are all f@cked anyway?” Well there is a point, there is hope, and we need to keep fighting the good fight and remind ourselves of the success stories and the positivity.
